What does "painting music" mean? Here’s a sampling of how I translate
music into art. It’s all in listening to what I see and mapping it out
by matching the timing in the music with the equivalent point on paper.
"Painting Sarasate’s Music" is a short film detailing the creation of a
painting by artist Marina Pinto Miller from "Zapateado" a piece of
music by Spanish composer and violin virtuoso Pablo de Sarasate
(1841-1907). The film was shot by Katie Kaufmann of Heliotrope
Pictures. The world license to this musical performance was purchased
from Shockwave.com. The terms of this license are posted on my YouTube Channel.
How many shining eyes?
Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic and author of "The Art of Possibility" brings to life what I have always felt through painting and listening to music but have not been able to put into words. Yes, classical music is for everybody!
Recently, Marina had the privilege of being invited to exhibit online at two UK based online art galleries - one of which is The Saatchi Gallery. This happened quite without any effort on her part - they found her, which makes it all the more fun and exciting!
